The Center for Energy and Technology Development and NSTU (NETI) advance a partnership between science and industry

On 25 August, Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) hosted a technology meeting that brought together scientists, engineers, representatives of industrial enterprises and international partners.

The meeting was part of the joint work of the Center for Energy and Technology Development and NSTU (NETI), aimed at advancing technological cooperation and creating a practical mechanism of interaction between research developers and industrial customers. Within the Center's programme at Technoprom 2026, the NSTU venue became the first point on the route “from research to industrial deployment”.

The goal of the partnership

The key goal of such a partnership is not only to present the university's promising developments, but also to identify concrete areas of their application at enterprises, to formulate requests for joint R&D, pilot industrial trials and further scaling of technologies.

NSTU (NETI) holds significant scientific and engineering expertise in energy, power electronics, materials science, artificial intelligence and mathematical modelling. The Center for Energy and Technology Development, in turn, acts as an integrator between the research community, industrial companies and potential customers, helping to build the path from the first acquaintance with a technology to a pilot project and industrial deployment.

What the university presented

During the meeting, NSTU (NETI) representatives presented the capabilities of the Shared Use Center “Structure, Mechanical and Physical Properties of Materials”, developments in power electronics and electric power engineering, projects of the Faculty of Energy, as well as the competencies of the engineering center “Energy-Efficient Electromechanics and Mechatronics”.

Special attention was paid to the prospects of modern energy. Among the areas discussed were workforce training for the industry, the development and standardisation of digital twins of energy facilities, the deployment of distributed generation, the creation of new technological solutions and the organisation of joint research.

Representatives of industrial companies from various regions of Russia took part in the dialogue. Among the possible forms of further work were joint research projects and pilot industrial trials of developments.

The international dimension

The international dimension was also an important part of the meeting. Representatives of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan SOCAR joined the discussion via video link, expressing interest in the developments of the NSTU (NETI) energy engineering center. This lays the ground for further consideration of Russian technological solutions in the context of international industrial cooperation.

For the Center for Energy and Technology Development, cooperation with NSTU (NETI) is part of a broader task — narrowing the distance between a research development and its real application in energy and industry. The Center creates a platform where universities gain access to industrial requests and partners, while enterprises gain access to technologies, scientific expertise and engineering competencies.

This work continued at the business programme of the XIII International Technological Development Forum “Technoprom 2026”, where the Center went on to bring together representatives of science, industry and international business around concrete projects and promising directions for energy development.
